He’s such a sound bloke . My lad was raising funds at school for a school in Gambia that his school was twinned with . I asked him for something that could be auctioned by the school .. got a massive box from the states . Every solo release he had done all signed.. and some Black Swan film Quad posters all signed too

Currently live in Asheville, we have some good stuff:
-Nest Egg (psychedelic rhythmic kraut infused rock, great great band) -Tashi Dorji (great guitarist, whose first album was put out by ben chasny, six organs of admittance) -Manas (avant drum and guitar outfit, tashi dorji and thom nguyen who plays drums in nest egg) -Bask (folky metal, kind of like baroness or so... not so much my thing but people dig em lots) -Sarah Louise (folky and avant guitar) -Angel Olsen (she's pretty big now, moved here a few years ago) -Moses Sumney (same as above, moved here rather recently tough.
I know there are some more, but these are the ones I try go see. There are a lot of side projects that involve some of the above people. But please check out Nest Egg, they are so fucking good.

I live in SC in the US now, but was born in Portsmouth in the UK.
Bands or important band members that I know of from Portsmouth or nearby:
Manfred Mann Tears for Fears Supertramp Gentle Giant The Cranes Foreigner (Mick Jones - I met him once, nice guy) Joe Jackson (Never met him, but everyone I know who did said he's a humorless twat) Pete Lockett
More a place for literature and actors rather than musicians.
