Since the two punk bands I played bass in folded a few years ago I plunged myself into the world of modular synths. Something I’d wanted to do for several years. This in turn has influenced my listening choices, about 2 years ago I started to put together and system and delved deeper into early and experimental electronic music. Yesterday I took delivery of this: Suzanne Ciani - Buchla Concerts 1975

So, I was working out yesterday, playlist set to random and this came on. Haven't heard it in years, took me a moment to realise who it was. I kinda zone out for a few moments only to snap back to reality at the 6:04 mark thinking 'Who is responsible for this badass "Purple Rain" cover?'

Boris - NO
It dropped yesterday but I'm just now getting to it this morning. Definitely more a metal record than most of their previous releases but I'm actually digging it.

Einstürzende Neubauten - Alles in Allem
I was, once again, a part of the Supporter side of things for this album. Whilst it was pretty expensive for what you got, I gave what I could. I'd rather have Neubauten around than not. I didn't get to participate in the phase as much as I'd hope for either. When the album was released I was a little disappointed in it. But then listened to it every day for a week or so and it grew on me a little.
Now I'm listening to if for the first time in a few weeks. It much better than I remember. The first track is still weak, but the rest is bloody good.

Last night I listened to Primus for the first time in years and their cover of The Thing That Should Not Be came on. This morning it's time for this....

Been on a major MONO binge as of late. Last year's "Nowhere Now Here" was fantastic and I'm revisiting "One Step More and You Die" for the first time in years with older, more open years. Beyond the crushing opening tracks the album is fantastic.

The Dead C - White House
I have been on a little 1995 reexamination project these last months. Discovering vast amounts of music and suffering some.
